How it works

  1. Pick a destination

We already cover 42 places, from Nice and Warsaw to New York, plus road trips on the US West Coast, in Corsica and in Tuscany. More places are added as we go.

  2. Say who is going and when

The number of adults and children, the number of nights and the month. You don't need exact dates.

  3. See the cost at three levels

Budget, standard and luxury, split into accommodation, food, local transport and attractions, with sample prices on the spot.

Common questions

What is included in the trip cost?

Accommodation, food, local transport and attractions. Getting there, such as flights, is separate, because it depends on where you fly from and when.

Where do the prices come from?

From public sources: transport and museum price lists, hotel and apartment price statistics, and data on shop and restaurant prices. Each destination lists its sources and the date the prices were collected.

Are these exact amounts?

No, they are estimates. They show the scale of spending; the real cost depends on your dates, where you stay and how you travel.

What currency are the amounts in?

In US dollars, converted from the destination's currency at the current European Central Bank rate. The amount in local currency is shown alongside.

How can I save on a trip?

At budget and standard level we show specific ways to save in that place, such as travel passes, free museum days and cheaper months.
